The Original Grit Girl was founded in Scott, Mississippi in 2000. It began with the restoration of a 1912 Fairbanks Morris Flywheel Engine and a 1910 Meadows Stone Grist Mill. What started as a hobby, milling for neighborhood friends and family, soon turned into a small business offering local, 100% Mississippi made Stone Ground Products.
 
The corn used in the milling process is locally grown with no additives or preservatives. Our products are never shelved, refrigerated, or frozen. Everything is milled fresh to order.
 
Not only does The Original Grit Girl provide products to some of the best chefs and restaurants in the country, we also mill for home kitchens, locals schools, retail locations and many others.
